hi friends I have the same problem:

i used the dv-in lite software to enable DV in and analog in/out . it worked until I installed the SP2 XP.
It seems that after
this SP2 installation, some code has been transmitted to the camcorder resulting of stopping all input/output.

So I used DV-IN .exe to set up to the factory presets and enabling again all functions.
It seems now that the analog OUT is okay but DV EDITING blinks : READY / NOT READY...
I'm tired of this problem !!!! the only SURE thing is that the problem appears with the XP SP2...

I have experienced the same problem with:
Win XP + SP1
IEEE 1394 card VIA vt6306 chipset

The card was installed and I had the Code 10 error. Installation instructions were very poor quality. Eventually located a reference to IEEE 1394 requiring power. I found a power interface on the IEEE card and connected a diskette drive power cable.

Re-start and problem resolved. Have re-connected Sony TRV110E camcorder and successfully captured video.

Good luck...

You are not alone
I have exactly the same problem with Windows ME and my Sony DCR TRV20E camcorder.
PCI firewire card ok in device manager. Firewire cable tested ok. Camera not even seen by comp so cant transfer video.
No drivers came with the camcorder. Does anyone know of any drivers that may be necessary for the Sony camcorders?
I think this must be a driver issue, Does anybody have any other ideas?

I have the same problem with my tekram 1394 firewire card. I have TRV 110. When I plug in the camera nothing happens. I have tryied to plug camera in my neighbours computer(he has pinacle firewire card) and then it work. I have also used my firewire cable in his computer.
We have the same XP version. He has not updated any thing. I tryied to update by downloading patch from windows knowledge base. Didnt work. I also tryied w2k drivers but still dont work. Computer doesnt say "found new camera" or something.

The firewire card is instaled and is "working proberly" by device manager.

Think I have to install w2k!

It could very well be a driver issue, I highly doubt there's a hardware failure. Try to see whether you can get Sony to issue a driver to you, as otherwise you obviously cannot use the camera to edit your footage on the PC.

Kind regards,
I have exactly the same problem! I have been searching all over for a driver which make it possible for the PC to "see" the camcorder (Sony DCR-TRV110E PAL) without results. Some dealers are very keen to sell me a new IEEE1394 Firewire-card which is compatible with this camera. Well, I don't think it is the card. I'm leaning to the theory that Sony hasn't made a driver yet. According to Knowledge Base-Article-300459 (Microsoft) the Windows XP doesn't include a driver for TRV110. My askings to Sony customer suppotrt hasn't helped me either.
I have not given up! I am sure at least 100 more Sony users have the same problem as us.
Inform me if you get any help!!

I tried to connect this camcorder to my PC. After installing a IEEE1394-PCI card and an upgrade to windows XP , the card was found by the computer. Plugging in the camcorder and nothing happens.
Doing the same by a friend's PC (his camcorder works correctly) ... same results.
I went to Sony Londerzeel Belgium and after a short check from a technician, he confirmed a bad DV-OUT.
Solution : repair by Sony with a cost of at least 165 €
.
I personally think that there is no hardware failure.

Do you think it can be solved with this LanC-software ?
