Don't go with either of them. Gigabyte (that's right, the motherboard company) makes custom-order laptops, and I'm sure socket 478 (the socket Centrino uses) is one of their options. It'll be cheaper than Dell or Toshiba, but reliable and should be well documented.

Hi,

The Toshiba Tecra is a very good choice for you.
Much better than the Dell IMHO. I like mine a Lot.
Best Centrino Notebook

Im looking for a good Centrino notebook for school. Im an avid gamer, and expected to get a mobile Intel Pentium 4, but the Centrino notebooks managed to do surprisingly well considaring their speeds, and have a much longer battery life. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good Centrino notebook. A 1.4 GHz Pentium - M processor is a minimum (The fastest Pentium M is 1.7 GHz), and the laptop needs to have a good screen. I was thinking about a Dell Latitude D800 with a PentiumŪ M Processor 1.7 GHzand 15.4 WUXGA Display.

Anyone know of a good, fast Centrino notebook?
