In my games ie Nascar 4 or Nascar 2003 I only get full sound in c**kpit mode, change the view and the sounds drop right out. Very strange but I'll get it. That may well fix it, I had the same exact problem (with the same exact mobo) when I installed my 9800 Pro. I suppose the same goes for P4C800. Asus sidestep the issue by saying use the -30 versions for better performance and stability when they actually mean that -00 models wont work at 8x.
