I have it plugged in via USB stick when PC is off and with this passport in, during start up system simply cannot make his way (windows starts, but desktop is interrupted by blue screen of death (as it is called). Obviously, passport is using this and I don't understand why (maybe because of some files that are inside). When i do the check, it is all right.<br /> <br /> What should I do? text/html 2007-01-08T14:39:59-05:00 Neo TheGod http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/15697/?o=300#469355 I have had this problem a few times. i submited a reply once before stating it was the memory, for that problem it was. i have recently had the same problem again. i ran the memtest program and also tried different sticks with no joy, i ran hard drive tests, mb tests, grfx card tests, registry fixes, the lot and everything was reported as ok but still my pc was crashing. the only thing left for me to do was a format, and since i have done that it works fine. as i said i have now experienced this on several occasions, the first few was the memory the other must have been missing or damaged windows files. hope this helps.i would recommend hirens bootcd to run all your tests, its free and a great tool for testing. text/html 2007-01-08T09:37:34-05:00 Luka Koncurat http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/15697/?o=300#469345 Hello everyone, I've got similar problem for a while now, cannot handle it.<br /> When PC starting, the system comes to my windows mode, and then error occurs. Run the program with one stick of RAM for about 8-10 hours. If you get no errors, then try the other stick for the same amount of time. If you do not get any errors with either stick, then its possible the RAM is fine. If you get an error with one stick or both, then if its still under warranty, then I would RMA it. If not, then you may have to fork over some money to <a target="_blank" href="/action/r/http://www.newegg.com/">Newegg</a> or something for some new RAM.<br /> <br /> I hvae always found it easier to just test both sticks of RAM just because of the fact that if the RAM is under warranty, you will have to send both (or how ever many) sticks back to the manufacturer regardless.
