Hi!

I actually have a similiar problem and would love to get it fixed I have 2x512MD Kingmax DDR400 PC3200 modules. I experience the exact same problem when i'm running with both modules. Though when I only use one everything seem to just wonderful. Really weird. Maybe this mobo only support one DDR400? Have read some about it in asus FAQ section, about mobo's that have 3 banks only support 2 DDR400. Just a theory though haven't found any actualy facts about this when it comes to P4V800-X.

Anyway if I find something out I will post it here. Feels kinda stupid to have a 512MB module laying around for no use

Hi,

With what you say you have either faulty memory, or memory this is not compatible with your motherboard.
Is the memory you bought listed by the maker as being for your specific motherboard? If it's not, that could very well be your problem.
You can try very conservative settings the BIOS for the memory. Keep the speed set at your FSB, but if you tried to tweek anything, undo it. http://home.pacbell.net/dbk4297/memoryupgrade.html
Before risking your hard earned $50 try checking cpu temperature as overheat is often the cause of crashes like yours

Hi, thanks for your help!
Unfortunately though, I just did that the other day, and it didn't change anything

I have just been changing my ram settings then running memtest86 to see if it will crash, and it always crashes at about 4 minutes, except when i run it at 333mhz and it goes forever!

Does anyone know if it would be faulty memory, or if it's just not compatible with my computer?
I want to return it but they charge $50 if you send something back and it's not faulty

Computer crashes during games - memory problem?

Whenever I play Warcraft 3 (or sometimes when I'm doing other things), my computer crashes or reboots itself. I have tried changing the RAM timings, which seems to make it crash less, but it still does crash. I have also tried increasing the DDR voltage but that makes it crash even more. The only thing I can do to stop it crashing is to run the memory at 333mhz instead of 400mhz. I have run memtest86 and it crashes that after about 12 minutes, but apparently there are lots of things which can make memtest86 crash, not just RAM.
My system:
Asus P4V800-X mobo
P4 2.6 ghz 800fsb
512MB PC3200 Kingmax Ram
Geforce 4 mx440se (PCI)

I have tried everything I know of to try to stop it crashing but surely there is a way where I can run it at 400mhz.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanx
