I bought a dlp130 for gaming some time ago and while I loved the 72inch digital screen idea I did find that the color wheel was really slow. Im mean slow to the point where an image moving semi quickly would blur long before a 3 gun projector would. Then my other complaint was that DLP didnt do skys very well. They seemed over saturated and alot of times a blue sky would be mostly white.
Watching star wars episode 2 would be great if white storm troopers didnt look fuzzy and pixelated since whites didnt work well in contrast to the rest of the image. The lp130 was rated for a 13 foot screen I believe however that anything over a 3 foot image would be degraded too much to constitute purchasing a nice screen. While I love the portability and especially the dlps rich colors (black not included), I found the above mentioned downfalls annoying so I sold it to my boss so we could do our electrical plans in cad on the wall
I have seen drastic price drops though which ussually means improvements so whats the scoop on the current models compared to previous ones?
