Definetly, AMD will benefit from Intel's Prescott Problems.

Intel is having problems with there 90nm Prescott CPU design’s. They will be running higher voltages and hotter than P4’s and Athlon’s.

The Athlon 64 CPU’s are running lower voltages and lower temps than any P4 & Athlon XP. The harder the Athlon 64 CPU works i.e.: Arithmetic and Multi-Media, the lower voltage required with very low heat generated. The technology that AMD incorporated into there phenomenal CPU design is called Power-Now Technology which is used in Lap-Top and Notebook computers.

Intel’s Prescott will be the same P4 design. They will not have HT. The new add-ons are SSE3 & 1MB L2. There clock speeds will range from 2.8GHz to 3.4GHz. Intel will also be releasing a new P4EE @ 3.4GHz. Intel’s intentions are to get rid of the P4EE series and try to have the Prescott CPU’s dominate with there lowered $ tag.

I don't want Intel nor AMD to go Belly Up. Both companies have there Unique cpu Design. And both companies are forced to better there Designs further. But, what I don't like is that Microsoft is really delaying the Windows 64-Bit Edition. I think this has something to do with Intel being very late with there CPU realeses. That really Sucks.

Take Care All.
