I am having the same problems with my computer. I just bought a AD 3200+ XP processor, Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard, 1 GB DDR400 Corsair memory, Asus 256MB Video card, and a new Aspire Super-Alienware 500W power supply case. I used my old hard drive whic I know needs to be formatted but I can't get my computer to stay going long enough to do that. If I leave it off for a couple of hours I might get to see it post but just to freeze but most of the time I turn it on and the fans in the case, on the processor, the lights, and everything come on but it doesn't beep, post, or even try to do anything. I've cleared the CMOS and even tried letting it sit and clear for a couple of hours and still nothing but a frozen waste of money. I have had nothing but problems with this setup because it never has really worked right at all and I am fed up. I just want my computer to work, is that too much to ask for??? I have really ran out of things to try and any help would be great.

i recently ordered a new motherboard, more RAM, a new processor, a new video card, and a new case. When i pluged everything in and turned it on only the fans and the lights came on. is the motherboard fried? could it be the video card? i took another stick of RAM that was compatible with the motherboard and tried it in place of my current RAM but that didn't change anything. i also tried a different power supply that i know works but that wasn't it either. the motherboard is an MSI K7N2 Delta-L. video card is a ATI/Sapphire Radeon 9200. processor is an AMD Athlon XP 2500+. RAM is Corsair 256MB DDR400 PC3200. Am i just doing something stupid?
