do u need too?

if it is @ the speed of light

isn't that 7 times around the earth in a second?

thats fast

and they would have it at high ghz possable, because they don't need to worry about heat any more
lol it would be amazing

You're probably right, but If this type of technology takes over the current technology it will make alot of overclockers unhappy seeing as i don't think there is anyway of overclocking a cpu that works off light, but then again i could be wrong, personaly i wouldn't care one bit about this because i hate overclocking, I've f**ked up too much hardware overclocking and have given up on it(-_-)

well, that what it says in the site

but i bet it'll be here sooner

plus the chip will cost less

because they don't need to make it to withstand the heat, like they do now

yea

speed of light

intel have just figured it out, but i don't know if they are designing a work CPU yet

i'll get a link....

hopefully soon all the computer will be light, without any electrons, lol, maybe a light box instead of a power PSU (power unit)

this is a link
http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/showstory.jsp?storyid=5265

sry can't find the intel link, it there somewhere, i read it
Serious!, light cpu's?, wow i wonder what they'll be like, do you think they'll perform alot better than the current design of cpu's?

that what i thought, it being too near the cpu and northbridge

i recon, the should make pipe sytem throughout the case, then one fan or blower, making alot of air pressurethrough the pipes, so air come out of back of case

so theres only 1 fan noise

or we could wait for

intel's light cpus and chips to come out

no heat, no electrons, and no fans and heatsinks, because it done using light, somehow?

If the chips and fan were on the top side of the card they would be nearer to the CPU and north bridge, therefore the cooler for the graphicsc ard wound be blowing hot air on to the CPU and the CPU on to the graphics card.

Another thought on cooling. Why do you hace to have the PSU in side the case? Sure having a external PSU would be a bit of a pain, but would keep the case cooler, give you more space, and alow you to but a exsaust fan directlty above the CPU, as heat rises this would be very helpfull.

uh PCI Express 16 is for graphics which is also about the size of the AGP slot we currently have, lan, sound, PCI for the others is small but then there are ones the same size as the original PCI slots

yea, but they should make it fair, so it doesn't take up a pci slot

even if it going to be pci express, which has few slots!
and the pci express slot r small! so u have to buy all new stuff

Who gives halve a sh*t about 1 PCI slot, that graphics card is a beast, i would sacrifice halve my PCI slots to have that card, F**KEN HELL LOOK AT THE 3DMARK 2003 SCORE!, and your complaining about it taking up one of your PCI slots?

the design of the heatsink and fan is good, but it would be better on the other side.

the design looks like it could cool a nuclear power station!
i rather have a big robust fan, and make it cool the graphics card rather than a small crappy one that brakes

all is needed is to, make it on the other SIDE
