I'm using a eircomm wireless ap (512k adsl), Is there a possibility to hack this connection &amp; reach 2mbps ? Any tips appreciated. I'm N+ certified and used to be VOL TS, so I know what I'm talking about...<br /> <br /> Bandwidth is set via the DSLAM. Sometimes the DSLAM is improperly set, so you should call your ISP to make sure they are reading the speeds you're paying for. You can even have them do a test from DSLAM to premises to test your bandwidth. This can usually assess where you're hitting a snag. <br /> <br /> You should also make sure you're on an ATM backbone and not a frame relay one.<br /> <br /> <br /> Michael, why do you think cable is better than DSL? I have had both, and I can tell you it's not. I'm currently on Speakeasy 6mbit/768kbit through Internap routing. It's so much better than any cable company could ever provide.<br /> <br /> I have a 5ms latency on my first 8 hops and high traffic times don't ever exist.
