When attaching the motherboard to the case, be sure and use the stand-offs if your case requires them.
Chiz,
The mobo attaches to the case with screws. Usually you will need to use one of those Ratchet tools to screw the screws. ha!

I cant see how hes got this system as sata's wont realy fit the budget, I pm'd him to see if i can come up with some kit, but It harder to make a cheap but good PC than it is for a top of the line system,

I may sell my rig but the gpu isnt to hot, well 9700 compair, 64bit 2.1 GHz dual HDD, 19" FST printer - all inone, new keyboard, optical mouse, new cased, with windows and lights.. fans bla bla, I think its about £450, but I gto a few grands worth of software..

Generaly- we got load of people who try to build, the fact is that he should test the system hardware first. that way each part you know works before putting it all together, and then spending lots of time to find out whaich bit it was, just to find that a none earthed screw wasnt placed correctly and you just have blown the UPS and MOBO.
I think ive seen about 20 or so..

The best ones i had to fix, was I was looking at a site for a few weeks and got a computer mag (like computer weekly or what ever) and then after 3 weeks declaire themselves and exspert. funny how they dont work..

I m just look ing at the buying prices and retails, for that budget (£400) I thnk i may be able to if hes got a good looking girl freind who gives head. (sorry)
OK heres the run down.
AMD 2500 (clocked to run as AMD64) 2.1GHz
MOBO - KT400 chip, of a different one, SIS478 USB2 GiG LAN, lalala
512 MD DDR RAM (any money left will go towards upgrading and adding)
Either a 9600SE ATI or Nvidia FX5500 128 graphics card.
120 gig hard drive 720 RPM
Nice case, wifi keyboard and mouse

and that all you get, Link to site -- http://www.gloucestrertraining.no-ip.com/GT%20preformance%20computers/
Ill put it under the unknown 2 link.

it wouldnt be so bad if he had a good gpu and or monitor, that where you can save a fair bit of cash, but the same goes with the opperating system if you got a "real" one, as some co. dont give you any disc with XP on them..

Sounds good and as for the dvd and cdr, you can connect both to one eide cable. Just make sure one is set as master and the other is set as the slave.

You have to make sure you set the pins correctly and that the cable orientation is correct.

Get yourself a grounding strap to kill that electro static discharge and so you won't damage the motherboard, memory or any peripherals that could be harmed by esd.

This link might help you out somewhat.....
As I said, I have looked at various sites, including that one, and was just checking what I had read, since many of the sites, such as that one, are 3 years old, and go back to the days of the PIII. I may have read you wrongly, but from your simle one line HTML, you seem to view me with some kind of disgust for not knowing what to do, or for apparently not having looked at any sites, in which case you are accusing me of lying in my original post. So Carter, only reply if you have something constructive to say (I apologise if I have read the situation wrongly, but that is how it looks to me)

Build A PC

I have done various searches and gathered information, and now am just posting because later today I will be ordering my new components.

I think ths is the correct way to build a PC, but I am not 100% sure.

Firstly, lay the motherboard on the anti-static mat that it comes in. Then install the CPU, followed by the RAM and then the HSF. After this, attach the lead from the PSU to the motherboard which carries the power (Leaving the PSU unplugged of course). Then attach the power buttons on the front of the case to the motherboard, followed by installing the DVD and CD-RW drives with separate IDE cables. Once this is done, attach power leads to them. Then install the HDD and attach it using the SATA cable and the power lead. Finally, install the graphics card, and put the case side back on. Then attach mouse, keyboard and screen, and boot up the PC after connecting the PSU to the mains.

I am not sure what happens after this, and how to attach the motherboard to the case, it is only a cheapo £20 one inc PSU (I can't afford any better on a £400 budget).
