Remove the processor and put it back and lock it in place. In other words, re-seat the processor. Not quite sure what happened to it, but the thing wouldn't turn on at all(no lights no beeps). I tested the power adapter on another laptop and it works fine. So I take it apart last night for inspection, couldn't spot anyting out of place. Then I started removing some of the components ie. memory, hd, cdrom, battery. After a couple of hours of messing around with it, I came to the conclusion that the mobo was dead. <br /> <br /> To make a long story short, upon putting the laptop back together the heatsink accidentally made contact with the power module(with power adapter plugged in), sparks flew and the leds started lighting up. When I power on the laptop, the leds turn on, the lcd sorta blinks but stays black, and I hear the hard drive spinning. But that's about it, fan doesn't turn on, motherboard doesn't beep, and the dvd-rom doesn't work either. I leave the laptop on and after 10-15 mins it shuts down on its own(my guess is it's going into hibernation or standby). I turn the laptop on and off but it goes through the same process everytime. Anyone have a clue what's going on?
