Did you tried different video card drivers? You can get them at nvidia.com
Also, search for a bios update, this may fix a lot of problems.

Report back after you've tried these.

ive been gettin a lot of emails, but im not on to much. heres my system specs.
windows xp sp2
amd 1600+
768mb ram
80gb hd main
20gb hd second
geforce fx 5500 256mb

not the best pc, but ive had it for years and its still running fine.
until i installed the fx 5500 card i had no problems with random hangs and blue screens.
the msg i get was, error unable to draw somethin somethin somethin, i forgot wat it was cuz its not there any more. if you have had something like this u should try this, its wat i did to resolve this issue.

remove the card and burn it....hehe no, jes remove the card
upgrade winxp home to sp2
reinstall the card
bios setting best if agp aperture size is 32 or 64mb
most important ' uncheck enable write combining' this seems to be where the big issue would be
ive enabled write combining and the crashes were more frequent
restart
u do not have to upgrade to sp2 but i found it to be much more stable,
also, if you just do this with out upgrading it may just reduce hangs and errors, if you definately do not want to upgrade, u may need to also lower your hardware acceleration to keep it stable.
but if youre like me i get 'off da chainz' mad when im tryin to work and it just freezes.
well after upgrading to sp2, and doin the rest of the steps i listed. ive had no problems with the card, im running it with full acceleration(no write combining of course), and even managed to o/c it to get the most out of it. issue resolved for me.

if you have tried this and still have problems, i dunno if i can help but i would like to hear about it. same for if it fixed your problems. hope this helps.
Anybody got any ideas.....

I have purchased a game (Empires - Dawn Of The Modern World), but found it wouldn't run using my old Rage Fury AGP Card... So I went back and purchased a PNY Tech. Verto NVidia GeForce FX5500 card, as I thought this would solve the errors....

Upon install, (as per guide).. I still had nothing...
I tried running Castle Strike - but "No Device Found" error came up...
I uninstalled & then re-installed, both the game & the cards...
Still no joy.....
I contacted the helpline and they told me the problem was that I needed to update the install drivers from Nvidia website....
I updated the drivers & installed DirectX 9.0b...
Still nothing.... In fact, it was worse... The amount of times I have had to shutdown, or crashed, or ceased up is unbelieveable...

Anybody that could help me with both settings in Windows & the GeForce Card would be stopping the physical abuse of a PC happening, as it flies out of my window onto the hard tarmac drive.....
Also - - - - I havent touched anything in BIOS.... Is that my problem....?????

I've had 4 days of starting up, changing a setting, shutting down, scandisk, ceasing up before windows...etc
I'm at my wits end....

HELP...
