I am not certain ifI would have or not. The Athlon XP 2800+ was what I had purchaced. I may have gone for the 64.. but they weren't quite available yet. A few months and theywould have though. Oh well.

Yes, I agree with all of you.
What I did is get the basics. Like a solid Athlon 64 3200+ (90nm) for cheap w/ an Asus A8V-Deluxe mobo. This should be amazing for now, until we see where technology is going in the near furure

Agreed. Those FX 53 939's are a bit pricey at the moment.. I dont like the $700+ price tag O_o

That is exactly my stand, Jeff.

Looks great but I want it to have time to burn-in for a while. (Oh.. and get cheaper.. )

Everything! is crazy right now in the world of PCs. We need to let everything settle in before we go out and buy stuff we know nothing about, thats what im doing anyway.

Yes, I agree.

Both companies are sooo competative, it's nut's. ATI's new chipset is acually doing amazing, and giving NVidia a run for there money. So we will see what unfolds in the near Future. AMD is a very lucky company to have so much support.

Take Care,

Can't wait to see what else gets thrown into the mix.

Everything for now is "just" starting. I want to see what is there when it is actually being "run through".
Once that happens then we can see who's "pointing" in the direction, and where it will take us.

In the mean time "all for one" but which "one for all" ?

ATI & NVidia Chipset Wars

ATI & NVIDIA are hard at work to bring us the most advanced Technologies, Inovations, Imaginations, Design in the World! With NVIDIA's new SLI technology and ATI's new introduction to the motherboard chipset family. There is so much more choice now, then there ever was, and it gets harder & harder by the day. BOTH companies are #1 in this category. And both should be supported 100%. I'm sure AMD is grateful because of the dedicated support from these two companies. And not to forget Via & SIS chiset's as well, which contribute amazing chipset's as well.
