Thanks for the reply. I figured out what the problem was. It was my mistake. I connected the DVD/CD audio cable to the wrong connector port on the motherboard that is used for digital audio. Once I corrected the problem, I got the audio back. I should have been more careful reading the document.

Thanks,
I have the exact problem. In addition, the c-media site is no longer reachable. The best I can do is to get the "latest" driver from the pcchips website, which doesn't work. Not a pop. Had I not seen this posting, I would have thought I have a motherboard with bad audio connectors. Please, has anyone ever gotten this to work?

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your input, it took me the whole day to download the update from the site in taiwan, and after installing it, the problem remain. I uninstalled the old drive and installed the new one, and nothing, just a big silence.

The program with the drives didnīt have any specification on the buttons only ? marks. Maybe it was the chinese format which may browser donīt recognise.

Thanks once again and any further help is appreciated.

Iīd also appreciate if any one else could send some help.

Thanks.

Have you tried downloading the latest audio drivers? The ones that came with board are probably quite old. I believe these are the proper drivers:
