This is an extension of what's been going on in the home PC market for five years or more. Marketing over substance. It is all the "must have hardware" and software that is written that "requires" this "must have hardware" that is killing the home pc gaming market and is stopping the PC from becoming the media centre in the home. The Apple Mac mini is exactly where the home PC market is driving itself. A small box that let's you access the internet do your homework/home accounting and download your mp3's - and that's it. Your gaming will be on a console and the wall mountable tivo tv/hifi will cover the rest of your media entertainment. 1000's of PC software/games publishers and hardware manufacturers will go out of business, 10,000's of hardcore gamers will be frustrated, and the home pc market will be no more no less than the home toaster or home microwave market.

As wrong as it is, Apple have hit the proverbial nail on the head. And it's not their genius, it's the stupidity of the home pc hardware/software industry.
