They aren't poor. AMD's net income in the Q3 and Q4 of last year increased significantly. They know they can't take on intel without help, and thus they setup deals with these chipset companys that allows them a slice of the pie. If AMD alientated them by cutting in.... lets just say you don't keep many friends that way<br /> <br /> although i would be a fool to not bring up that the AMD 760 chipset -- which amd made just to introduce its new platform..... ended up being the best performing option for it, even surpassing a couple later generations that taiwan came up with. <br /> <br /> course, even then, most people took a VIA southbridge, something about less compatiblity issues then AMD's part. <br /> <br /> <br /> though i have to admit.... i switched to intel a while back due to various issues i experiance with AMD based boards....<br /> <br /> my 3 cents
