Well, as long as programs are writen to take advantage of Dual Core (Multi-Thread) the performance between the Single & Dual will result in the Dual Core winning by more than 70% to 130% in performance

And now with Intel coming out & forcing Dual Core CPu's along with AMD, you can expect Multi-Threaded Gamers, Programs & App's to be pumping out into the market.

Well, Dual Core Opterons sound good & powerful. Love the Integrated Memory Controller, the Hyper Transport, SSE3 & the new supported Hyper Threading they will have.

Quote:
Volume III is page 89 of 534. CMP Legacy on page 122 is discouraged. It includes HTT and hyperthreading.
The bios problem seems to be a simple download to solve. At 675.00$ it’s a steal. A psu that sticks out the back is just cosmetic. Nforce 3 is rather old school but I wouldn’t say this is a gaming rig. A 5000rpm the fan is definitely loud. Also I personally feel that HyperTransport is a fairly good way to integrate ram http://www.hypertransport.org/tech/index.cfm , it has the potential to have 22.4 Gigabytes/sec throughput but I would say there are probably some stability issues with the ram. But if they won an award at CES they can’t be half bad. I would love to make this a Linux box for my network.
