i just did it go to http://www.download.com put 'AC97 driver' in the search box

whats below should be the first one matching 'AC97 driver'

Realtek AC'97 WDM Driver (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003) A4.04 (02/01/2008)
Update your embedded sound from Realtek to the latest AC'97 codec.
You can try,
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloads1-3.aspx?series=1...tware=True

And install the automatic installation
Or you could have a realtek 97 sound card try:
http://drivers.soft32.com/driver/download-Realtek_driver_AC97-24543.html

If not you will have to look around on:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/

Hope this helps

Hello, I can't recall what exactly I was thinking of but by accident I deleted all the realtek sound manager files. I have tryed to google to find help (or download possibility) so far without success. Does anyone have an idea?
And: Oh, yes I am a complete amateur when it gets beyond average user knowledge.

Thanks,
Sarah
