I'm using a card reader to get files from my computer..Every time I copy a file from my pc to my card reader this memo always comes out.."the disk is write protected pls. remove the write protection." pls help me I'm getting sicked of it..tnx 4 those hu will help me..

Try this,
1.
Check out if the USB drive has a small swich for write protection. If its there try toggling the switch.

2.
Windows can all write protect flash drives. Check out this registry path,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies.

You may find a key here on the right side by the name 'WriteProtect'. If it's not there this would not be the cause of problem. If it's there, make sure that the value is 0.

hi all..
i think u bought the duplicate pen drive.. go n enjoy with that funny thing...i also had same problem.. but i dint finfd any proper solution for that.. forget abut me n u.. more than 10000 people are suffering from this funny thing becaue they all bought a duplicate drive in a cheaper rate.. and at that time he thought that maine baji mar li.. but that is not true.. baji to usne mari jisse aapne drivr liya.....

if still u have any dought then god bhi help nahi kar sakta.. sorry brother...

hi guys i had a problem with my USB pendrive
when i want to copy from it,it,ok
but when i wana do format an error coming like your drive in write protected mode
and also coming the another removable disk with size 1.76 TB
can you give me a sloutio plz...it is a transcend company product

did not work

the low-level formatter is not detecting the pen drive though its properly inserted. any other suggestion??

put a piece of tape over the switch on the sd card and it will work. It worked!

I have fixed my Apacer flash drive using the "low-level format" program provided by Apacer itself. You can download the specific program for your model at Apacer website. However, my blog's readers also reported that the low-level format program for HA202 works for other model too. You may give it a try.

You can format the disk , if it doesn't let you do a complete format then on the format menu clcik on quick format, all your files will be deleted during the write protection format, to prevent this open command prompt and type the following code

FOR WINDOWS VISTA ONLY
C:/users/drive/f/g/u/y/c/a/b/systemfiles/datafiles/empeggltngq("28bqoo"format)

other users

C:/users/datfiles/embed/format/a/y/systemfiles/networkfolders/ipconfig

Hi all

As I stated before, I have had the same prob and able to remove the write protected message by just unlocking the hold button. If this doesn't work there is formating software for each USB on the web. One can google and download it for free inorder to formate the USB

I'm also getting the same problem with my TwinMos 1GB pendrive.
The error message
"Remove the write-protection or use another disk"
There is a switch in my pendrive but it still gives me the error message
when it is not write-protect.
Theres a strange thing i've observed is that this problem occurs only in my PC....if i try
with some other PC it works fine.
OS: Windows XP

Please help me..
