        <description>Dark screens are usually caused by inverters or backlights.         <description>I'll assume you've verified that the backlight is indeed &amp;quot;off&amp;quot; and it isn't just that the pixels on the display are all blocking the light.&lt;br /&gt;

Laptops also have a position switch that turns the backlight on when the lid is raised, and off when it is closed. It might have failed. The switch may be mechanical, optical, or magnetic. An optical interrupter type of switch can be blocked into the &amp;quot;off&amp;quot; setting by debris.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Search Google for  &amp;quot;lcd display backlight&amp;quot; and you'll see a number of companies that sell backlights too.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Backlight voltage is likely hundreds of volts. There may be more than one lamp. You can think of them as similar to the cold-cathode lamps used by people to &amp;quot;dress-up&amp;quot; their tower computers.</description>

        <description>check the little switch when you close the screen,its a hibernate switch&lt;br /&gt;
ive fixed it from the back with a needle,it was stuck</description>

        <description>All is connected ok. I have tested the voltage going into  the board but am unsure what should be feeding the backlight!</description>

        <description>I have a Acer Aspire 1313xc which has a dark screen. It works ok on a external monitor. I have changed the inverter board and the back light and it still doesnt work ! Can any tell me what the voltage should be going into the backlight ?</description>
