Some of the points made in this article apply to the Nuforce amps:

http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/audioprinciples/amplifiers/SwitchingAmplifierBasics.php

Another very good article is at:

http://sound.westhost.com/articles/pwm.htm

At the very least, we can note that the Nuforce has connections all over and coils standing up.

That long list of URLs from L.O. Wilson covers some very expensive products, but I question whether they're actually _good_ products. Or at least whether they're worth the money.

I think we need someone to give a reality check to a lot of the products that create such a stir on the net. (Like Nuforce)
The review on the Nuforce amps was really interesting, although it looks like you missed some problems with them.
"It almost sounds like this site will be steered more towards the audiophile than the PC fan. Is this the case?"

PC's are becoming a part of the home entertainment center...not there yet.
You have mobo with 7.1 stereo connections, video cards that support progressive scan, monitors built for 16:9 standard plus TV, software etc. Audiophile and a PC tech are not really on the opposite side of the spectrum. I for one, like to read reviews or opinions on audio subjects.

Hi Merc,

No, not going to just look at audiophile products, I'm hoping to balance things out so we can also tap into a whole new catagory of readers. And from my experience many people that work with PCs also have an interest in audio. These people now go somewhere else to get their information and I'd be happy to help with their buying decisions by giving popular audio products a thorough evaluation.

Have a good weekend,

Thermalfreak-
I agree absolutely and it is completely up to Sander himself, as it is up to anyone, which interests he pursues and in what direction he wishes to take this site. We all move on and an active mind pursues many interests. Mine at the moment is PC's, not audio, and I just wanted to know where HWA was headed.

I am about ready to close on a house, though, which means the surround sound system I put in storage 4 years ago will again make an appearance so my audio interests will once again come forward. I have no idea whwere the technology is today but I know my system, although new material-wise, will be woefully behind.

I have to agree with sander, although i didnt have audio to roll over to put out the flames of the gfx card industry in particular....so instead i became a petrol head on two wheels,....good idea to move out a bit and cover something that appeals to sander himself too right?
