I used the calculator quite often while full functionality was 100% free. Then they started splitting functionality into a &amp;quot;free&amp;quot; version and a &amp;quot;pro&amp;quot; subscription version. There's nothing like digging into your specs, taking some real-world measurements, and &amp;quot;getting your hands dirty&amp;quot; to obtain actually meaningful information. Motherboard designers have multiple power management components at their disposal, and they don't all approach it the same way.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here are a couple others with different approaches, and different stages of implementation. Not as sophisticated, but then again, when you're working with estimating, sometimes too much sophistication, clever tools, and over-reliance on someone else's assumptions and data will end up screwing you over.&lt;br /&gt;

        <description>I checked this out, thinking that it makes a handy &lt;i&gt;guide&lt;/i&gt;, but I guess at the end of the day, there's no substitute for experience, I mean &lt;b&gt;ACTUALLY&lt;/b&gt; building stuff yourself and finding out it doesn't work, etc.&lt;br /&gt;

 &lt;i&gt;water cooling kits&lt;/i&gt;, there's no Physx Card. And plus - this really p**ses me off -&lt;br /&gt;
 8800 GTX never seems to be included stuff like this (and benchmarks too). In fact, &lt;br /&gt;
 I think it's a complete and utter waste of time this. Just buy a decent PSU and ur sorted.&lt;br /&gt;
 I mean if you're gonna fork out on a series piece of kit, get a serious kick ass PSU.&lt;br /&gt;
 Don't get a cheapo, cos you're asking for trouble and some smoke haha!</description>

Version 1.3 of eXtreme PSU Calculator has been released!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

- updated Video Cards power consumption based on real 3D tests &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- added Video Type: Single Crad, SLI or Crossfire &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- added 9 overclocked Video Cards &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- added ATI Radeon X700 Pro&lt;br /&gt;
- added ATI Radeon X800 GT&lt;br /&gt;
- added Chrome S25&lt;br /&gt;
