Funny you should mention that, as I am having trouble with one of our employees' Toshiba laptops right now too...they are claiming they don't know about the extended warranty purchase...yay!

Go to the forums and see how many people have trouble with Toshiba laptops. I bought a 3 year service contract from them which covers spilling stuff all over it, and they still refused to do service just a year and a half later for something that just went bad. No only that, they discountinued the part that went bad. Like most companies, their service call center does not speak english as thier primary language, so it can be hard communicating. They also refuse to pass the call forward to a higher up that might be able to approve something.

I thought my laptop was great, and I have recommend Toshiba to countless people over the years, even before I bought one myself. No more, Toshiba does not back their product nor do they support thier customer.

Just say NO to Toshiba!
