Well, here are some suggestions that I have tried so far...

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1662794
tonyxcom's suggestion helped...but everything went right back to normal once I re-enabled the Shell Hardware Detection service...still got no answer back from him.

and

http://forum.tweaks.com/forum/Topic201392-70-1.aspx
No more updates in this forum...still waiting.

I also tried using a program called "Icon Packager - Public Version". This program allowed me to set the icons to their default settings, and then I could cutomize them as I wanted. The labels were still incorrect, but I was able to change them in the registry. Everything looked fine, but once I rebooted the computer, everything went right back to incorrect settings.

What can I do? Please help!

How do I create an autorun.inf file for a cd/dvd drive? I know I can do it for my physical hard-drives, but for removable media, how do I make it work?

Well, I still haven't found any solution yet...

I tried to do what you suggested...Right-Click--->Properties--->But there is no "Change Icon" option when it comes to fixing the icons and descriptions for cd/dvd/removable media drives.

I had been cruising the internet, looking for some help, and I came across this. Does anyone have any further information on how I could possibly make this work?

Changing Drive Icons

To change a drive's icon when you open My Computer

Create a file called AUTORUN.INF on the root of your hard drive
Enter the lines
[autorun]
ICON=Name of the ICON file

For the name of the icon file you can either specify the path and name (e.g. ICON=C:\WINDOWS\ICONS\MY_ICON.ICO) or
a specific icon in a library (e.g. ICON=ICONFILE.DLL,2)

Have you tried right-clicking them and going to Properties > Change Icon?

Does it only do that when you access the folder tree through My Docs, or any way you get there?

That doesn't seem like I asked that too clearl;y but I'm beat, I'll rephrase it later.

My drive icons are messed up when viewed from my documents.

I try to change them to what they should be using regedit...but everytime I restart the computer, the icons change right back to what they originally were.

Can anyone help me?

I can provide more detail if necessary...pictures if required.
