i still want a mobile phone rather than something closer to a PDA. i can understand why some people would want a qwerty device but i would rather not, i think its the blackberry association crowd im all too willing to avoid. hence a traditional phone is what i favour

HMMMMM! excellent. i like that news. i know part of the N80's problem is lack of RAM. it should have around 18MB free after a reboot which is pitiful. the thing just maxes out and crashes or grinds to a halt. N81 had 38mb of free RAM after a bit of fiddling at nokias recent event. double. good news. the N95 8GB had 80MB of spare RAM. now thats what im talking about for a phone like the N series. N81 is frickin heavy! 140 grams. and i thought the N80 was a fatty at 134. the camera is a duffer at only 2MP. damn. i want the N82's camera on the N81. nokia have split the market again. screw this im probably best off with the 8GB N95.

8GB internal + 4GB memory card = mucho awesomeness

bye bye iphone. 2500+ mp3's, 5k+ ogg. providing someone sorts ogg player for it. no doubt they will if they havent already.

I have always found Nokia's phones to be in good taste and well designed. They make very few phones for Verizon though so I usually just find my self getting an LG or a Sammy or something like that every two years.

N81 looks nice. always liked nokias, that is until plumped for the N80 18 months ago. what a piece of junk. its brilliantly rounded feature set is still even now only really second to the N95, but so many fatal flaws like terrible battery life, substandard build quality, horribly slow menus. OS constantly locking up and wifi problems. oh how much fun it has been to own three of them because they fell to bits. not.

i have been deliberating so hard over what to replace it with before the end of the year. its been really difficult. wifi is a must, which rules out the new SE k series. the only other real contender i have looked at is the W960.

should i give nokia another shot with my custom and the new N8x series, or drop them and head for more japanese territories?

P.S no iphone fanbois lol
