$800 bucks for a cell phone, you got to be kidding me!!!

For those dollars, I can get a laptop, plus a decent (with enough features) cell phone. LOL
What can I say... Oct 30th was the day. The day when I got my n95 8GB edition. Since then, I simply didn't have a spare minute to login to hwa. The phone is amazing!!! Much lighter than I expected as well as much thinner compared to my old Sony Ericsson S700i. It has every feature in the world you can imagine of, except for touch screen. Beats iPhone by an order of magnitude in pretty much every aspect making emphasis on the amount of hi-tech gadgets/ftrs combined in one little device. A 5mpx camera produces high res photos with light sensor and bright xenon flash makes it perfect for night shots [Also features dual camera for HSDPA video calling (too bad not available in North America), barcode scanner, etc]. Wifi works flawlessly when browsing the net, downloading movies, or just watching youtube. (changing screen orientation is very fast and convenient) Talking about movies... I can easily connect my nokia to a TV set and watch/listen/browse/play games on a big screen TV. Oh, the gpu inside is amazing for a form factor so small. Media controls on the side, are a real helper in mp3 playback regardless of what menu you're in. Gotta admit tho, GPS lacks a better signal strength. But after all said and done, it can easily be considered a portable office, a camera, an internet browser, a GPS navigator, media player, game console, personal digital assistant and... and a phone... all-in-one. Just looooove it and would definitely recommend for those who have extra $850 kicking around =)
yes I do really like touch screens.. it makes using the internet and playing games easier on them....
when I don't have a touch screen and go on the internet, when I try to scroll through I get stuck on the text boxes, and they don't let you get past them some times unless you press the select button again, but in places like Google where select is the same as enter and it makes you load the page that the text box edits.. in this case searching for something when you are trying to look at a map through Google maps.... it gets quite annoying...
GS059,
I think that a touch screen option would be nice for navigation, BUT ONLY if you could enable/disable it quickly. The only real problem I have with the design is that the top and bottom ridges of the navigation button need to be wider.
I'm using the HTC S620, which weighs in at 130g with battery.
It does what my old trusted Nokia (which bit the dust after 6-7 years of usage) and my PALM TX did, and then some. It is quad band which helps when I'm travelling, WiFi, bluetooth and supports micro SD cards (I've got a 2GB plugged in with many hours of music).
It syncs well with my MS applications, and even gives IM notices of emails recieved even when internet access is unavialable or turned off.
I've used it in six countries so far with no connectivity problems.
The one I'm using is sold as a T-Mobile DASH, but it is not locked to any carrier.
So the consensus would be in favor of nokia.
HTC, no doubt, is a great model, but much more suitable as a PDA (or even a laptop), rather than an every day phone. Thanks all, who participated.
