Thats probably the major criticism (and rightly so) of wood cases. If you plan your ventilation carefully, its not a huge problem. Watercooling is the other option. Whatever thats called. I'm no carpenter. Anyway its reasonably easy to work with, sands and paints well, you won't have to sell a kidney to afford it and so far has resisted warping, not that i've been using it for too long. It's not the strongest material on the planet but as long as you spend some time working on the frame and making it sturdy, you shouldnt run into many problems in terms of getting it to hold the weight of components. There was a great wooden cube case that you could use as an example...can't remember where it is and I'm short on time and sanity at the moment so I'll try and hunt down the link for ya later. <br /> <br /> Incidentally, I made a cube case too <img src="http://media.hardwareanalysis.com/smilies/smile8.gif" width="14" height="14" border="0" alt=":_)" title=":_)"> I recommend mounting the mobo on the floor of the case, looks madness. No offense to the peeps here but I'm not sure that many of us are into case modding. <br /> <br /> EDIT: As for the speakers, I'm assuming you meant mounting them on the exterior of the case, in which case you most certainly can and it'd be pretty nifty. If you meant inside the case...its still possible and I've seen it done but there *may* be certain dangers in doing so, in terms of the rest of your computer dying. I'm totally into it though. I have a workspace completley devoted to it, i bought all my own tools and I'm ready to do it. However, there are a few things I have come across so far. I am making this computer out of wood by the way.<br /> <br /> I'm making a cube computer case. I plan on sanding, priming and painting it. I am wondering what kind of wood would be best suited and wouldn't warp? its gonna be about 20&quot; on all sides. I'm also wondering if i could mount speakers on the sides of the case. With some shielding of course.
