Kieran,

With the increase in FSB, did you increase the voltages along with it? Or was the voltages set to auto?

How is the system/OS/Apps running now with the increase in 400mhz speed?

Any noticable differences?

Well that was easy, upped the FSB to 375 @ 1.38V.

3GHZ at an increase of 4 degrees celsius.

I offically love this CPU.

Now I might tighten my timings......

I left the computer on all day today to set the cooling AS5, so this weekend I am gonna just see if I can get it up to E6850....then beyond...

Oh yeah trust me that's almost guaranteed. If you wanted to you can go a few hundred higher, but a Core 2 @ 3Ghz is a very fast CPU.

When I was in my high school computer maintenance class, all us computer geeks stuck together, while the people who were actually there to learn something just kinda stayed scattered. Anyway, so this one kid comes up to us geeks, who are trying to ping the crap out of the teacher's computer, and asks:

"How do I overclock my computer?"

With a completely straight face, one of the guys says:

"Solder a watch to your computer."

The rest of us managed to keep straight faces as well, and I threw in:

"Oh, definitely. Of course, it really depends on the watch too. A Rolex is definitely going to yield more performance gain than a Timex, and moreso than a Casio."

The sad thing is, I think he actually believed us.
