Dust only settles on two side of my pc case for some reason. Is it ok to use a brush and what will happen if you brush dust of parts.

I was able to extricate (read, dig out) the dust from my cpu fan with a broken off incense stick.

Not the incense part, but the stick/handle part.

Yeah, I'm a long hair.

I say use the air. As far as air charged dust creating static.....I would think the probability would be low to nil. Also do not "nose" up to components when using air, as Moisture and freezing are side effects. Also "air" it out in a open area. Dust will go everywhere, and it is usually pretty fine in nature (ie. Don't blow it out next to your 24" LCD monitor or printer). I try to stay away from the things that are guaranteed to kill if done wrong or unlucky (ie. Wet or Vacuum cleaners). Why take the chance. If you want to use a "wet" apparatus to wipe with then use an Electronics cleaner that is highly evaporating and not conductive in small amounts.

In the end, good luck and use common sense when playing inside the box. You poop inside your box and life will really stink.
Simple answer:

No.

Long answer:

The static would do its damage before you would hit it with the brush.

Bobby Phillipps said:
By guarantee, do you mean warranty? And don't use a vacuum, use an air-compressor on LOW power. This doesn't void your warranty. If any parts are damaged, this MAY void your warranty, but as long as you keep it on low power, you should be okay. You only need enough air to move the dust, not to move the PC.

yes but doesn't this also present the risk of static?

also DO NOT ORIENT THE SPRAY CAN UPSIDE DOWN!!!
Frost will come out and it can kill something
(just ask my old radeon if you don't believe me)

I would say yeah, use that Q-tip but avoid air.

Contact them and ask what to do.

If your computer is filling up with dust - also step back and look at the environment in which it lives.

Public Enemy No.1 = Carpet

Good luck!
I woudlnt use a vaccumm could create static electicity and kill something inside the computer.

Your best bet is to use compressed air and a damp cloth or q-tip so long as it stays on the plastic part of the fan.

Yes, to clean the configuration of dust is the most important thing, if you want to have your PC healthy for years.

But there is a problem - my new computer is in guarantee... I'm seeng through the case holes that the fans are covered from dust. I used vacuum cleaner to remove some part of the dust, but the rest...?:/
