Check your graphics adapter. You can do that by going to Start -> Run... type in "dxdiag" without quotes and hit "Run." Click on the "Display" tab. What does it say under Name and Manufacturer?

I agree with that. My bro has my old 3000+ (939) and no matter what graphics setting, it plays the same. Choppy and stuttery.
EA couldn't even optimize the game enough to make it playable on a X1950Pro! I know my CPU is old but the performance I got was simply awful when you compare it to the good performance I get in games like Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War.

It must just be your CPU, I can play it maxed with 6xAA at 1440x900 and get very playable framerates.

That just proves my point that EA is too lazy to optimize their games properly for older machines.

I second that. Even if it did run, it wouldn't be playable with the lowest of settings. I couldn't even beat some of the courses using an X800 XL because of low framerates.

That's EA for you. I too was impressed with COD4 and how well it runs, even on my P4 system it runs great. I can play COD4 at 1680x1050 on both my P4 and Xeon systems. Of course the Xeon system plays it maxed out, while the P4 system has to play with low textures, but I would go as far as to say that my P4 system can run COD4 better than it can run BF2. And I'm not surprised that Gears of War runs well too, because Epic's Unreal Engine 3 is excellent.

You would be amazed how well it would run on your P4 with a X1950pro. I couldn't believe that I could play the game on high settings and resolution and still achieve a very playable frame rate.

Actually, I once stuck a friend's X1950Pro 512MB in my P4 system and I was able to play BioShock (uses Unreal 3 as well) in the max settings at 1680x1050.
