Good choice with the CPU, it would be cool as ice even with stock air-cooling.

Good part is 780G based motherboards are already available.
This is very interesting news, couldn't imagine of it being done. AMD is starting to shine again, maybe not with performance but with some clever ideas. That integrated gpu is very overclockable, and the motherboard has 14USB ports, amazing. This could be the best solution for an affordable Pc, and when the micro ATX versions come out it could very well be the best affordable multimedia Pc. I might as well consider it, since HD-Tv price drops are just around the corner.
no kidding. how much would 256MB of GDDR2 cost, like $3? manufactures could definantly incorporate dedicated memory on a 780G board for a total of like 5 bucks.

I like the fact you can really take advantage of it in making a budget Media box.

If mobo makers take advantage of the dedicated memory abilities of the chip, you can create a HD3200 card in your system that packs some pretty decent performance for very little money.I'm not a huge fan of Shared GFX memory. RAM is so cheap these days that dedicated memory slot would rock, an if BluRay playback is good on a Semp. 3200+ it wouldn't take a high-end processor to make you content with the box's over-all speed.

Ive always thought about getting one of those cases that looks like a HTS receiver an making a media Center PC an putting it in my TV stand. Either that or an Mvix. Perhaps after I get the 50in SAMSUNG TV I keep dreaming about.

Mvix - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882994005

i think the 780G chipset is genious. its leagues ahead of any igp and the hardware video decoding is awesome as well. maybe this will get some more people into pc gaming eh?

Looks very promising and is a interesting step in technology!

Interesting read, its definitely for those who are on budget, and good to see SB700 performance. Believe it or not AMD is still in game, not just 5% of enthusiast market though.
