so that means that they are different and that the channels A and B1 are reduced to the speeds of A and B2.... but is this a big problem for performance (or am i the only one who can say that) as said before i did notice a performance boost in crysis......

They may be identical, but barcode is not a reliable indicator. Barcodes are an accounting and manufacturing control item, and have no bearing on technical functionality.

Manufacturers have applied the same barcode to electrically different versions of a given product. For example, a PSU with a "rev. A" printed circuit board can have the same barcode as a PSU with a "rev. F" circuit board, because to the customer and the stores, it is the exact same PSU...even though electrically it is very different.

Similarly, a memory stick manufacturer might change which vendor he obtains the memory chips from. Makes a big difference in how the memory stick works w/r over-clocking, but again as far as the customer and stores go...it's considered to be the "same" memory stick and the barcode will not be changed.

Hi.... i just installed a second pair of OCZ 2x1Gb PC2-8500 1066Mhz on my mobo and when i tryed to start up my computer it did nothing.... it was on but that�s all. so when I removed all the ram put the new set in de a1 and b1 channels and the ones that where already in there in channel a2 and b2 and it workt perfectly until it tried to start up Windows Vista then it just rebooted after that I set the bios settings back to default and rebooted and it worked all the way but noticed that in de post it said that my ram was working at 633... so went to the bios an set it to 800 cause I can't get my system started at the value of 1066Mhz (I don't know why) but anyway it worked properly and already I did notice a performance boost playing Crysis... but my concerns are with CPUz...CPUz says that Slot 1 and 2 (the new ones) are PC2-6400 (400Mhz) and 3 and 4 (the old ones) are PC2-5300 (333Mhz) with a complete different timings table.... I�m sure that the ram are identical they even have the same barcode, item # ect. the only thing that�s different is the warranty label on the ram, the new ones have an extra line with the voltage specs.... anyway.. should i be worried about this???? and why can't i get my system started when i set my bios to 1066Mhz....
