To my knowledge AMD has yet to produce a quad core that is as fast as Intel's slowest quad (Q6600) and they seem to have less overclocking headroom to boot. If you're not playing the latest and greatest games (Crysis, Assassin's Creed, etc) then you really don't need that kind of horse power.<br /> <br /> I haven't checked prices recently, but I'm pretty sure you can get a comparable Intel Quad Core for less money.
