Also, Do you fellow gamers find the "glossy finish" to be a good or a bad thing. I will be using backlighting btw.

I also dont plan on using the hdmi atm, but i though future proofing isnt a bad thing.
I was going to buy a web cam this summer anyway, it also has one built in, but i didnt look to see if it was any good, so it would save me $30+.

I did read where either gerrit or gg (i forget who)said that they were sold on the vs optiquests, is that still the case?

My specs are below. I currently have a vs 930 19", its 1000:1 8ms b-w 16.7m colors with dvi and vga input. It quit working for the second time. My friend has the same monitor as i do and his is still working, we bought ours at the same time almost 2 years ago.

I dont want to get a monitor that is too big since all i do is game and occasionaly watch a dvd on it, though imo the quality is pretty poor on my current monitor for viewing dvd's using the dvi input. i dont want to up my resolution too much as i wont beable to get another video card for 1-2 years. I dont want to downgrade my quality and colors.

I am using my old crt 17" sony, but my eyes are about to start bleeding. My price range is really closer to $200, but i thought i may make an acception to get a better monitor and scrape up the extra $100.

I can get this one at my local costco. Can i do better for the price? Im a little out of the loop since i havent looked at monitors for about 2 years.

http://tinyurl.com/3jy3x6 costco $299
http://tinyurl.com/4lrqku zdnet

Dell SP2208WFP 22" Wide HDMI/DVI 2ms 2000:1 300 cd/mē 1680x1050 WSXGA+

I thought i may settle for a viewsonic optiquest
$199.99 After $20 Rebate
ViewSonic Optiquest
22" W 5ms 1000:1
300 cd/m2 1680 x 1050 WSXGA
http://tinyurl.com/yobphh $220, but for $80 more, the Dell may be worth it. I do prefer samsung, hannsg, dell and vs over the other brands.

Thanks again for your help guys. I may send my monitor back to vs for more work, but i hate to put $100 into it when it has caused so much trouble and is off of warrenty. When i can get newer tech.
