I got 600MHz out of my Venice for about 2 years and I'm getting 800MHz from my Toledo, but those are both 2.0GHz at stock ... anything where you start out near the limits of the architecture is going to be hard to take much farther.

Intel is also lauching the 6 core dunington which has 8mb of L3 cache.
and my 3d mark score is 12600 ill try testing it on other programs

As already been said, one can't expect much more than 3.6 GHz from a Windsor. 400 MHz overclock is about the limit for any Windsor/San Diego/Orleans/etc. Athlon 64 processor without ridiculous cooling.

I wouldn't hold my breath for anything from AMD. At about the same time AMD is going to launch something new, Intel will be launching Nehalem which has been in the works for almost a decade. AMD is going to have to strain to get on top of Core microarchitecture and it is going to be very, very hard to estimate--let alone surpass--the potential of Nehalem.

If you wanna bench a CPU, don't bench it with 3D Mark.

Or ANY graphics limited test.

Most any modern CPU will give you pretty much the same performance in games, especially at higher resolutions and eye candy turned on.

My advice for a gaming rig on a budget - buy a decnt, modern CPU, and keep the extra cash for a more powerful GPU. You'll be glad you did.

Trust what is says in your BIOS. the latest version of CPU-Z should also give you a proper reading.

To be honest, expecting more than 3.6 with that CPU is dreaming. Just like the others, you must have one hell of a CPU to even get to 3.6 on air cooling.

If you want to see if your HTT limited, drop the CPU multi and try push the HTT frequency. Even nForce4 based boards were able to get over 300Mhz
