Mothow, what happened with you and your IHS on the X2? I've been thinking it might help bring the temps down ... but I don't really want to fux0r it up since 939 chips are hard to come by except on Craigslist these days ...

Not to mention having to fiddle with the heatsink to have it make good contact.

Yah definitely lower your HTT multi. Mine is at 3x for 280x3 = 840. You'll find that even lowering it to 1x only has a TINY impact on real-world performance.

Mothow, for some of us, the 939 days are still here.

I have that same CPU, Dex. I didn't have to crank the voltage up too much, what voltage do you have it at now? I couldn't for the life of me get her stable at 3.0GHz, but 2.8GHz is good for 12+ hours on Orthos, at 1.375V I think it is.

You could try lowering the multi and upping the FSB, might have to use a mem divider then.

Oh the good ole 939 days.I forget more than i remember about them. But the x2 3800+ was my favorite until i killed it by removing the IHS

Set vcore to 1.4v and fsb/multi and LDT(memory multi)300x9x3=2.7ghz.

What ram are you using?
If your using TCCD type ram set voltage to 2.7v or 2.8v. cas 2.5-4-4-8-T1 and divider depends on how good your ram OCs.My OCZ PC3200 Platinum rev2's did 300 with no problem at 2.5-4-3-7-T1 with 2.75v and 1:1

Hi everybody, new member here and,

I recently bought up to a Toledo dual-core processor! 3800+ model. Woo! I know I know, but I'm on a budget

It's a Socket 939 CPU, upgraded from a single core San Diego. My motherboard has the nForce-4 Ultra chipset.

Anybit, it's a stock 2.0GHz, and I've only been able to get it to 2.2 stable!!! Any pointers for me? THANKS!
