I got a 16GB Creative Zen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZEN_%28portable_media_player%29

Reasons I bought it:
-Small form factor
-High capacity (16GB is just right for my music collection)
-Drag and drop functionality
-16.7 million color screen
-Good video playback quality
-Good sound quality

Sounds like a great deal considering they have an MSRP of $149 USD. Let me know how you like it, I have the original hard drive based 30GB Zune.

Well, I finally got a 4GB Zune on eBay for $80 (w/shipping). Brand new in box, and look like exactly what I was going for...
Thanks again guys!

Creative also sued Aureal 3D for "patent infringements," accusations which Aureal 3D counter-sued Creative for in response to. After two years of legal battle, Aureal won favorable rulings in the face of Creative, but Aureal had no money left after legal fees, and filed for bankruptcy.

Guess what company bought Aureal less than a year later? Yeah. Guess which company has failed to provide decent, full-featured X-Fi drivers for Vista users, and in fact have stifled users from solving the problem on their own?

Yeah. I don't find their MP3 players to be in any way "better" than comparable ones made by Sandisk or other companies. I will vote with my wallet. Creative makes nothing compelling or high quality enough to compel me to give them a dime... so... I'll stray away from that company in favor of other companies with more

Creative Zens are not made of cheap plastic. I had a Zen Touch and now I have the Zen Vision M, both are built like tanks.

The Zune does look pretty nice... I'm on a budget (have a tux to rent for prom, a ring to buy(yes, that's right!!!), and college costs on top of that), but I think I can probably find a decently priced 4GB one on ebay.
The Creative Zen looks a little cheap to me. I bought a couple off eBay as-is (I'll probably RMA them sometime and then sell them again), and they seem to be made of cheap plastic, especially the little joystick thing in the center.
I won't buy an Ipod. Sorry, just can't do it.
And another SanDisk is probably a good idea, but I'd just rather get something different for her than what I have.

So, I guess I'm looking for a 4GB Zune. If that doesn't work out, I'll find some type of SanDisk.

Thanks, guys!

When it comes to flash based players there are a number of choices. You have the Creative Zen (available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB). There is a number of SanDisk options as well if you want another SanDisk. The e200 series has a 8GB version as well as a 4GB version, and they tend to be quite affordable and are even often on Woot.com for really cheap. Then of course you got the Zune 4 and 8GB flash based players and the iPod Nano 4 and 8GB models. I have a an old iPod 15GB (3rd Generation) and a Zune 30GB (1st Generation), but when it comes to flash based players I'd probably go with the Creative Zen because they have a decent size screen, support many codecs, and even have a SD slot.

8GB Zune, its around $165 but they're great I have a 30GB and my sister does too but my little brother has the 4GB and it's great the screen is clear and it can play videos and its bother touchpad and d-pad. Worth every penny, if not this is a great option too and costs less:
MP3 player

Firstly - Hey Guys! Long time since I've been around here... a mix of school and a girlfriend has kept me very busy for the past few months....

So, I thought I had lost my MP3 player (SanDisk Sansa) a couple weeks ago, so I went ahead and bought a Toshiba gigabeat F10. Before it got here though, I found my old MP3 player, and seeing that I now had two, I gave the toshiba to my gf. But it turns out that it had problems. The hard drive has a bunch of errors, and after trying to fix it, the LCD successfully stopped working.

So, I'm trying to find an MP3 player to replace it with, and wondering what ideas you guys had. I'd rather go with flash memory than try HD again, but I'm open to ideas....
Probably 5-10GB is good, but a little less would still be ok, and I don't think I'll find much more with flash storage.
