Tim,

This is a weird one! But in the computer world anything is possible I guess.

Try resetting your BIOS to see if this at least allows you to POST. If you suspect it is the hard drive and it's still under warranty just send it back and get another one.
i've got a dual core amd processor (5200+) on a gigabyte mobo (ga-ma69gm-s2h) with 2gb ddr2 ram and a samsung sataII 400gb HD. also 256mb graphics card (nvidia). 500W power supply. running xppro sp2. after leaving fully functional machine for a couple of hours, i came back to it in an endless reboot cycle. i have NOT installed sp3. tried ghosting an iage and got a checksum error from the bootdisk and hang. tried reinstalling xp (2 differnt versions) and got a line error and "please restart install process". moved the sata drive to an older machine running same version of xp, and managed to get some files off it before the video went all wonky. now i can't even get to post on the old machine, with or without the sata drive inline.
have i hosed both motherboards? what could be the problem? the sata drive is partitioned with OS on c: if that means anything? please HEEELLLPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!
