If you suspect it is the hard drive and it's still under warranty just send it back and get another one.<br /> <br /> text/html 2008-05-16T01:24:04-05:00 tim harrison http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/71508/#0 i've got a dual core amd processor (5200+) on a gigabyte mobo (ga-ma69gm-s2h) with 2gb ddr2 ram and a samsung sataII 400gb HD. also 256mb graphics card (nvidia). 500W power supply. running xppro sp2. after leaving fully functional machine for a couple of hours, i came back to it in an endless reboot cycle. i have NOT installed sp3. tried ghosting an iage and got a checksum error from the bootdisk and hang. tried reinstalling xp (2 differnt versions) and got a line error and &quot;please restart install process&quot;. moved the sata drive to an older machine running same version of xp, and managed to get some files off it before the video went all wonky. now i can't even get to post on the old machine, with or without the sata drive inline.<br /> have i hosed both motherboards? what could be the problem? the sata drive is partitioned with OS on c: if that means anything? please HEEELLLPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!
