Hey ...

No I am using windows standert WiFi con wizard.

Im am using a Linksys AP with a Microcom router(ADSL).They are bridged.
So when the signal gets low and th internet disconnects and it says Redial=60sec.
The ADSL UserName and Pss are not stored on the router because its a Bridged 1483 IP LLC connection.
They are given by the connection I am starting up when ever I want to use the internet.
There is no Dialing tone of any sort as this is ADSL.

Thanks
I wonder if he means a timeout before re attempting to connect to the wireless?

Or maybe he is using some sort of secondary software to do this?

Yeah. There is definitely some third party software involved that shouldn't be. Get rid of that, use the Wireless Connection Wizard, and all should be sorted.

You never know what the software for his wireless card might say when searching for a network to connect to.

While that is true, if it's just a regular old MacBook Pro it probably has a standard Intel wireless G/N card in it similar to what every other modern Centrino based laptop out there has. Usually with an Intel wireless card you just use the Wireless connection thing built into Windows. And I have found that to be superior and less bloated then any other solution.

Adam Kolak said:
Your dialing up for a bridged connection? That does not sound right. I have bridged computers together and all you really need is a crossover cable and setup a bridged connection in Windows (I believe there is even a guide wizard for it). There should be no need to dial up that I know of.

He's using the wireless card to bridge the connection.

So are you tapping into a wireless modem with the mac (like as if you were piggy backing someone elses wireless??)?

Or connecting wirelessly toi another computer thats connected to the net?

If so, it could be the case if its encrypted, the password has changed, or the signal strength has dropped extremely low.

The wireless card on the other computer might have been turned off etc etc there could be numerous reasons.

*** In a nutshell ***

RG asks a question.

John pretty much calls him a lamer (irrelevant to the problem), and when I tell him to please not do that, he admits to it:

You're right. I could have said that in a much kinder way, and I'll edit it.

RG then notices John's response and is not too happy about it.

Ammm......How about NO?
Its just the heading!! Come on man.Addressing the problem is what will make us all smarter.
Not your blabber about the heading that doesnt fit you mood swings or PMS.
So help me!

Then I proceed to tell John to please address the problem, as R G did not like his response.

John, in the future please just address the problem. If there is not enough info provided then ask him for more, and do so politely, this lowers tension in the forum and makes us look better.

Of course, John is not to happy about my response. But wait!!! FordGT90Concept to the rescue!!!! And sends me to view an image with a sign that says Shut the F**ck Up.

If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

http://img446.imageshack.us/img446/58/stfu6zc.jpg

i was gonna say...

all this over a 56k modem?

k0rny, it can even be about the simple blue color of the sky. The point is not the topic. its addressing the problem instead of going after members, and then after me for telling them not to go after them. I hope the ADMINs are aware of this behavior, seriously, it's starting to get old. I did not start this, and I'm not here to be flaming ANYBODY, but if you treat me in an unjust manner, and sit around waiting for me to post and then bash me, I will defend myself.
