I guess I'll put my 2 cents in.

I am thinking about getting crysis with my setup atm, and when I do, probs in the new year, I'll tell ya how it goes. Can't expect much though. I get 200+ frames on css full specs, extremely smooth on UT3 with all setting up high, I can only hope I get 40+ atleast FPS on crysis. As for your computer, you can get something like this in Australia for $1500 AUD (so thats less USD i think).

NZXT Alpha Chassis
Asus P5PKL-1600 (2 x PCI-E if you want to upgrade for SLI)
1000W Power Supply
Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 4.0Ghz OC
Thermaltake 120 CPU Fan
500GB HDD
DVD Drive (Because Blu-Ray hasn't, and I don't think will ever kick it off)
4GB Geil Ultra DDR2 4-4-4-12
Asus (Just recomended brand, highly reliable) GTX280. (SLI to 2 and you have ultimate graphics power)
20" Monitor
Logitech G15
Razer Lachesis Mouse
Razer Exactmat

I think this shall do the job, I'll get feedback from other techies though.
My aging graphics card still knocks out about 20-40 on crysis on 1280x1024 medium/high. Providing you're not looking for constant 60fps+ at 1920x1200, a 4850/70 will do the job just fine.

example:
tower (mid tower plz)
graphics card (perferably one thats hdmi capatible)
dvd rom drive (blue ray is fine as long as its cheap)
power supply (anything from 750 watts+)
mother board (powerful mini ATX)
cpu(a cheap powerful intel no more than $450)
cpu fan(cheap)
name of all the cables needed to hook it all up(best ones you can find)
thanks if anyone can answer these questions.

lol

Ya dont know much about modern PC parts eh m8? Came to the right place so!

For a start, you can get a Core i7 920 for about $280, so thats the CPU sorted.

For the time being, the stock fan will do.

Get a Geforce GTX 260(216) or HD4870, both about $250~

a DVD +/- RW drive will cost you about $30, so pick whichever colour suits you best, same with the tower (although budget to spend about $100+ for a decent one)

Blu -ray?????????????? I'm still confused as to why.....

Decent Socket 1366 Motherboard will be about $250 for th likes of the Gigabyte EX58 UD5P.

Ram - about $150 for 3gigs of DDR3 and you'll be fine for a time.

The rest is up to you (Hdd, PSU, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc)

first off i do know alot about computers heck i built my first computer when i was 7! but i understand where your coming from too im not mad. Secondly i was liking everything you where talking about till i ran across you saying a gtx 260, what about the 280?
and then you said you didnt know why i wanted blue ray its because sooner or later games are going to blue ray altogether on the computer.

ty and no harm meant i will look into the 7i cpu
I haven't seen anything with a single graphics card that can peg the AA at high-res(16x12 or higher) It will probably be one more generation of GPU before Crysis gets completely conquered. But not being able to crank the AA starts to matter less and less as your resolution gets higher.

Hmm... I don't think drivers are good enough to fully utilize the performance of Tri-Sli or Ati's X-fire x4. Remember it would have to be Max Anti-aliasing at the max resolution the monitor can support, max AF and every setting on very high. I still haven't seen Pc that could handle all that with good frame rates.
It'll be good if you could save up for a long time and see where thing will be headed in the GPU market. Maybe Nvidia will have a smaller die than Ati by then, who knows.

I would imagine some of the extreme highend systems could do it, I can play it (smoothly) at 1920 x 1200 with everything on very high and 2x AA, I would guess that one of those Core i7 rigs with mulit GPU's could pick up the extra passes of AA which a system like mine just can't handle.
I'd up that to a 6 gig kit... all the benchmarks I've seen have shown that there is a notable increase in performance over 3GB.

Also get a good PSU anything of proper wattage made by Enermax, PC Power & Cooling, OCZ, or Thermaltake will fit the bill.

Other than that I completely agree with DublinGunner
whoa! a 4.0 GHz? they make those?

not at stock speed, but it is attainable with some of the higher-end quads and good cooling.
but i finally found the perfect monitor, it's not only a monitor its a tv it also has 1080p and vga,dvi ,and 3 hdmi inputs for only $500! (all female except dvi, by the way has anyone even heard of a male dvi slot?) i have another video card o found to my liking its a KFA2 GeForce 9600 GT Video Card it has a hdmi output

A 9600GT will not give you playable frame rates in crysis at 1080p resoloution. If you're going to play at 1080p (1920x1080) you will need something more along the lines of a Geforce GTX 260 / Radeon HD 4870 1GB or better.
