Sander Sassen said:
I guess that combination should make for a solid performer right? However I don't have much room in terms of height, else I won't be able to mount my side panel back on. Does anybody have this combination and would that person be so kind to check the total height the HR-03 GT sticks out measured from the top of the HD4870 PCB?

Cheers,

Sander,

why dont you take a look at this cooler from the same company. It is their newest one and looks like it will be alot lower in height above the top of the card and above/away from the gpu. It is longer in length along the length of the card....

http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/vga/t-rad2...trad2.html

Also, with your pull in the world of e-hardware-review site...... maybe you could get one from the company to do a hardware review??????????

I'm not sure if you know, but, there's a version of Rivatuner now that allows you to alter the overclock and fan speed to whatever you want instead of being limited by the ATi CCC. I know this isn't truly relevant to the thread, but more of a heads up. I say this because I've noticed that tons of people are buying aftermarket coolers for their HD4870s due to the ridiculous heat output from a very bad fan speed idea.

Hmm, I'm not positive -- why not go with an Arctic Silver Accelero S1? From what I've read, they both do pretty similar as far as cooling performance, but the Accelero is considerably cheaper. With the Turbo Module, it's still cheaper, dead quiet, and gets incredible cooling performance.
