Make sure the wireless card is not disabled in the BIOS. There have been a series of laptops where the motherboard has a bug, and the Wireless card will disappear. This has happened a lot in HPs dv series of laptops (dv2000, dv6000, dv9000) but has now been fixed. Don't know if you may be a victim of this same problem.

You can look underneath the laptop and unscrew the bay door for the wireless card. Make sure it's in their properly and shows no signs of damage. You could also try a live CD of UBUNTU to see if it comes up.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop.
I recently replaced my old hard drive because it crashed.
Now, I am having problems getting the pc to recognize the wireless card.
It is not even listed under Device Management-> Network adapters
Can someone help me?
Do I need to install a driver for this?
