I'd start with several diagnostics first. Components can go bad after any time of use (days, months, years, etc.).

- Start by clearing your BIOS/CMOS to make sure there are no incorrect settings that may have cause the problem.

- Test out your memory with memtest86.

- Check your voltages and make sure you power supply is stable.

So i added a new asus EAH-3450 2 weeks ago. Everything has been running great, but the last 3 days I've had a difficult time booting up.

Normally, on boot, my computer does 3-4 beeps, shows the ATI xpress 200 splash screen (the motherboard chipset), then just starts up.

The past 3 days, It does not do this all the time. Each morning, I turn on the computer, the ATI screen shows up, but it never beeps, and just freezes. After I fiddle with things for a little while and turn it back on, it still takes a minute, but eventually the beeps start and it kicks into gear.

However, in the afternoon, it seems to normally start up fine, beeps and everything.

The computer is not sluggish, and the only thing changed in the past half year is the video card.

I do not overclock, and the only component that looks to be running hot is one of the hard drives (it does not have any essential data on it).

So far, I've detached each hard drive separately, but that did not change anything.

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening? Specs are below for reference

AMD 64 3200+ Socket 754
TUL x-press 200 ati motherboard
2 gb 3200 geil ram
ASUS EAH-3450 256 ram PCI express card
Lite-on 8x DVD-RW
Sony 16x DVD-Rom
Hauppauge pvr 150
Hauppauge PVR 150-mce
Audigy 2 ZX Platinum
80 gb Maxtor HD (boot drive)
250 gb WD HD (2 partitions)
