        <description>My Gigabyte board ran O.K. but once you touch the BIOS settings that are where the problems began. Loads of Blue Screen of death.&lt;br /&gt;

Just some of the problems I’ve had with this gigabyte junk. &lt;br /&gt;
Every time I set my memory to DDR2-1000, the system sometimes re-boots and/or just crashes. Even when I set the bios to default settings, it does not set my Phenom 9850 BE to its proper CPU speed. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Even worst, once I updated the bios, the system became much more un-stable and un-reliable. Gigabyte needs to get there s**t together because they've lost my business with this unstable nonsense.&lt;br /&gt;

        <description>For the 1st ~10 months the &amp;quot;DS3R' system gave some great Super Pi, 3DMark03/05/06 times, and loaded windows in seconds upon boot-up. Then out of the clear blue sky it slowed to a crawl. Super Pi times tripled (slower), and 3DMark scores slowed to half or worse of what they were.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I run Kaspersky, SpywareBlaster, use the Spyware function in ASO, X-Cleaner, and Malwarebytes. Just for kicks I went to 2 different sites that specialize in analyzing HJT and ComboFix logs and they found no &amp;quot;bugs&amp;quot;. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Next, I removed the CPU (q6700), RAM (2GB XM2 DDR2 1066), PSU (650watt Corsair), HDD (Seagate SATA II 320GB), GPU (GTX 260 SSC), and installed them onto a GA-P35-S3G motherboard. All of the &amp;quot;speed&amp;quot; returned. That told me the DS3R board had a problem.&lt;br /&gt;
I sent it back under warranty and Giga-Junk couldn't (or wouldn't) find a problem. Their brain surgeons updated the BIOS for no good reason, and sent it back. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Since then, they have told me during 3 different phone calls that they will replace it, and email a new RMA#. This hasn't happened. I bought the new Gigabyte board so I could put a computer back into service while Gigabyte is playing their games.    </description>

Brian... i'm curious... when you say that your GA-EP45-UD3R &amp;quot;Flies&amp;quot; compared to your old GA-P35-DS3R using all your 'old' components... Can you elaborate? To me.... same cpu, memory, gpu, and hdd would lend to same performance and if there are any increases that it would seem unoticed...    But if you say it is indeed faster..... then I that is a good thing... But for me... anything new/current compared to my old system is going to literally &amp;quot;Fly&amp;quot;.... &lt;br /&gt;

Current system I am using is a ABIT AS-8 (i865 chipset) on a P4 650 3.4 800fsb motherboard...... In the 3.5yrs I have had it..... I had to call ABIT tech support 3 times...... all were resolved over the phone... BUT... the funny or not so funny depending on how you look at it.... those 3 times I had called in... I get the same EXACT person on the phone...  I swear that ABIT tech support is a one man operation... My brother had the a ABIT motherboard too and he too got the very same person everytime as well when he had to call in..... hmmmmm...&lt;br /&gt;

Well....... I got a new motherboard from Gigabyte.... it is a GA-EP45-UD3R.... rev 1.0.... I really hope that I'm in the boat that works.... and that I hope I dont get the pleasure of calling their tech support like you guys have royally enjoyed and estatic about.....  Only good sign is that my brother's both new machines that I built for him using a GA-EP45-DS3L are still working. hope it stays that way....</description>

        <description>Well, I've RMA my Gigabyte board last week. So now I am waiting for a complete replacement for a complete different model number and a newer revision. None of this revision 1.0 junk. I don’t like the FACT; Gigabyte is using people as Guinea pigs to test these revision 1.0 garbage motherboards. And at the end of the day/year, we are stuck holding the bag. I am sure Asus, DFI, Sapphire along with many others do the same thing, but at least they offer good solid support with very few problematic products IMO.  &lt;br /&gt;

I've made my message as clear as possible with Gigabyte’s Tech Support Management in a polite, intelligent but direct to the point manner. I’ve requested a 790FX or 790GX w/ the SB750, not the useless SB600 which should have never been released in the first place. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I told them they can keep this piece of garbage and get me something newer that actually work right. If not, it’s going right back to where it came from. The only problem is I have to pay for the shipping to California. If I was to keep sending the board back, with all that wasted money spent I could just go out and get something new.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Shipping the darn thing cost me $32 w/ insurance &amp;amp; tracking which according to Gigabyte's instrucitons I have to include in the shipping.</description>

        <description>Back in the days when I was a VAR we had an order for approx 500 custom built systems.&lt;br /&gt;
We ordered 3 each Gigabyte, ASUS, Supermicro, Tyan and DFI boards with approximately the same specifications.&lt;br /&gt;
2 of the 3 Gigabyte boards were DOA, the other one failed under the stress test.&lt;br /&gt;
The stress test was to run the systems under load (100%) for 6 hours at an ambient tempurature of 95-100F (the units were to be mixed between office, warehouse and industrial floor locations that may or may not have operational AC in Florida).&lt;br /&gt;
All three ASUS boards worked and passed the stress test, but for some reason could not support the specified memory configuration.&lt;br /&gt;
The SuperMicro and Tyans all worked passed and had no configuration issues.&lt;br /&gt;
1 of the 3 DFI boards was DOA (upon examination it appeared to be a manufacturing defect (cold solder joint on a voltage regulator)), the other two passed the stress test with flying colors and no incompatibilities.&lt;br /&gt;
We requested pricing from SuperMicro and Tyan, and both were competative, but only Tyan could fill the order on time out of available US stock, so thats who we went with.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During the 5 year contract period we had zero board failures after implementation, and of the 500 ordered only 2 were DOA.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Now you may be asking yourself why I don't suggest Tyan or Supermicro boards more often here at HWA?  It is due to the fact that they are usually a bit slower in releasing new products on newer technologies.  They DO spend a lot of time on their QC and ensuring a good design, but due to that are rarely if ever on the leading edge speed wise.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I still use Tyan and SuperMicro MBs in my multiprocessor Workstation and Homebrew Server builds due to the system stability, the same reason I recommended PS/2s and OS/2 for the scientific community clientelle that we had.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I'm also a big, big FAN of fanless designs with proper chassis airflow.  These are much better than depending on a tiny buzzing sleave bearing fan that cost 12c and can fry your system if it fails.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
DFI is a good inexpensive product for a hobbyist and is actually more flexible than ASUS, but I feel that the ASUS reliability and flexibility is more balanced.&lt;br /&gt;

        <description>I'm in the middle of a warranty repair refusal by Giga-Junk right now. I have a GA-P35-DS3R which choked after ~10 months. After testing every piece of attached hardware on another computer, I sent the board back (to California) for repair. They updated the BIOS from F11 to F12, said nothing was wrong with the board, and returned it to me. I reassembled the board/computer, and it was still screwed up. Calling them back just got me a string of lies about sending me another RMA# (among other things). Giga-Junk never sent the RMA# but said they did when I called (3 times), and now they are ignoring my emails. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The moral of my sad little story is the title of this thread: &amp;quot;Gigabyte No More - They've Failed to Deliver&amp;quot;. Live and learn................ &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I have since filed complaints with the FTC and my state AG's Office. </description>

        <description>I have an old Socket 754 gigabyte mobo thats now 5 years old and performs very well, especially in overclocking ( socket 754 was always good for that IMO ).&lt;br /&gt;

But for mobos, I will always stick with MSI and Asus.</description>

        <description>I've bought 2 Gigabytes motherboards one was a 478 socket motherboard and it performed very good and no stability issues, the driver cd was also very easy since the process was automated even after the restarts, the other one was a P35 motherboard which was very well priced and has been rock stable since installation.  I guess you ha dthe rotten luck on buying a very bad one.</description>

Since selling the last Gigabyte board in 2004, the only other motherboard I've had since (for &lt;i&gt;my&lt;/i&gt; computer anyway) is this 939 DFI board, with which I am nearing a 3-year anniversary ... &amp;lt;3&lt;br /&gt;

I used a Gigabyte mobo in my parents' computer, and it's been running 5 years strong, and I also have a Gigabyte mobo in my own rig, which has been running for 4 years without problems. I have also used Gigabyte mobos in builds for friends. I would not hesitate to get a Gigabyte mobo for my future build.</description>
