ONe thing I won't do when Thunderstorm is approaching or at hand, is leave any wanted electrical plugged in.. (Like TV/VCR/DVD/COMPUTER!

Just a thought of 27,000 K-Volts is enough to bypass most if not all basic surge protectors.. You had that atleast..right?

Both my friend and I have computers and we experienced the same problem during a thunderstorm early this morning. Our computer generally stays on all of the time but because the electric went out for a few minutes then the systems cut off. This morning when I tried to reboot then the power did not come on. Unplugged electrical outlet and finally on my power strip I changed the outlet and the system came on. However, my friend has tried the same concepts and no power. Can anyone help us out? Is there something I'm not trying?
