As far as the setup it sounds like an amazing design. I assume you have one rather small IDE drive in it where RH sits and the rest of the data ect is on the raid array which can be easily moved to a new server if a problem happens. Am i right in assuming this? Also, if this is true did you ever consider making a ghost image of that HD incase of a crash? This is called a RAID0, striping configuration. Basically the data is cut into even and uneven bits and each drive get either the even or uneven bits, naturally maximum data throughput doubles, as the data is formed by combining the data from both drives.<br /> <br /> RAID1:<br /> This configuration is meant for security, a second drive is added that exactly mirrors the first one. If either drive stops working the other one will still have all the data up to the moment the other drive stopped.<br /> <br /> RAID10<br /> This is a combination of the above, so a striped mirror, a total of four drives are needed which are put in RAID1 and then the second RAID1 array mirrors the first.
